Our clinical director is a fellow of the Acupuncture Board of Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), which means that all of our practitioners stay up-to-date on current research around acupuncture for fertility.
We are excited to share this comprehensive meta-analysis that was published in 2024. The study examined the impact of acupuncture on people undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). Analyzing data from 25 trials with 4,757 participants, the study found that acupuncture significantly improved clinical pregnancy rates (CPR) and live birth rates (LBR). Specifically, the CPR was 43.6% in the acupuncture group compared to 33.2% in the control group, and the LBR was 38.0% versus 28.7%, respectively. These findings suggest that incorporating acupuncture into IVF treatment may enhance pregnancy outcomes.
In this study, the benefit was greater when participants had 4 or more treatments. If you are planning to do IVF in the next few months, get in touch now to start working with us before you start your cycle, if possible!
